OAO “RBC information systems” announces that the first child’s social network in Russian Internet will be put into operation - Tvidi.ru.
The partner on project development is Tweegee Company which is the creator of the biggest child’s portal in Israel (tipo.co.il).
The purpose of Tvidi.ru is to change into the biggest media project in Russia. The project investments are 6 million USD. Tvidi.ru is for children from 6 up to 14 years old and it provides them a unique possibilities for development. There are on-line games, search engines, chats, service for photo and video keeping, news etc. If the child wishes to create own web site he may use special adapted tools easily. Children’s safety is ensured by safety mechanisms and content pre-moderation. User may get access to Tvidi.ru only when entering the code consisting of 8 symbols.
“We suppose that Tvidi.ru has everything to occupy vacant place in children’s Internet projects” Michael Gurevich says (General Director of “Media World” which is a part of PBC Company). “We may offer children not only to contemplate but also create, amuse, learn and communicate with each other. Tvidi.ru is a World for the child which was created and adopted specially for him, his logic and possibilities. The project starts in Moscow where big percentage of children’s audience has access to Internet which is required for using all web site opportunities. Tvidi.ru will move to the regions little by little at one time with the expansion of Russina Internet channels. I would like to notice that American prototype of our project tweegee.com was mentioned in the short list of the most successful start up projects of the year (TechCrunch competition) and we sure that his Russian “brother” Tvidi.ru will become the remarkable project of Russian Internet 2008”.
“Russia is very attractive for children’s entertainment Internet projects” says Shay Bloh, Tweegee General Director. “More then one million children in Russian have access to Internet and this is only the beginning. Tvidi.ru is based on technologies used in Israel children’s tipo.co.il with success. In Israel 85% of children visit tipo.co.il and I am sure Tvidi.ru will get the same luck. The demand for entertainment web sites is increasing both from the children and parents side. Children wish to have a “cool” place for self realization and communication; parents want children to be protected in Internet from unsuitable content. Tvidi.ru operates according to COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) standards – USA Federal Law, which is the most strict standard in the world among standards on children’s safety in Internet. In such a way we created the Internet platform which meets parents’ and children’s’ requirements”.
